Competitor Terms and Conditions & Liability Waiver

By registering for and participating in the Washington State Taekwondo Championship, the competitor (or parent/legal guardian if the competitor is under 18 years of age) agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility

All competitors must meet the eligibility requirements for their division, including age and belt rank as defined by the event organizers and governing rules.

2. Rules and Conduct

Competitors agree to follow all competition rules, referee decisions, and event guidelines established by the Washington State Taekwondo Association and the event organizing committee.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, unsafe behavior, or failure to follow instructions from officials may result in disqualification or removal from the event without refund.

3. Health and Fitness

Participants certify that they are physically fit and medically able to participate in martial arts competition activities including sparring, poomsae, breaking, demonstrations, or related events.

Competitors should not participate if they have a medical condition that could endanger themselves or others.

4. Liability Waiver and Release

Taekwondo is a contact sport that involves inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, falls, collisions, and other accidents.

By registering for this event, the competitor (or parent/legal guardian) acknowledges and accepts these risks and agrees to release, waive, and discharge the following parties from any and all liability:

  • Washington State Taekwondo Association
  • Event organizers and staff
  • Host facility and property owners
  • Referees, officials, and volunteers
  • Participating schools, instructors, and coaches

from any claims, demands, damages, injuries, or losses that may occur during participation in the event.

5. Medical Treatment Authorization

In the event of an injury or medical emergency, the participant authorizes the event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment if necessary, and agrees to be responsible for any associated medical expenses.

6. Media Release

Participants grant permission to the Washington State Taekwondo Association and event organizers to use photographs, videos, or recordings taken during the event for promotional, educational, or media purposes without compensation.

7. Registration and Refund Policy

All registration fees are non-refundable, except in cases where the event is canceled by the organizer.

8. Agreement

By completing the registration process, the competitor (or parent/legal guardian) confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions and Liability Waiver.

8:00 am      Credential Pickup

8:30 am      Staging for Black Belt sport and traditional Poomsae. Demo team and Freestyle staging.

9:00 am      Demonstration and Freestyle

 

9:30 am      Black Belt Sport Poomsae (Cadets to Seniors) & Black Belt Traditional Poomsae (All Black Belts)

10:30 am         5-to-9-year-old Staging for Poomsae, Breaking, Sparring 

11:30 am     10-to-14-year-old Staging for Poomsae, Breaking Divisions

12:00 pm     15 and Older Staging for Poomsae, Breaking Divisions

12:00 pm      Staging 5-to-9-year-old for Sparring

 

1:00 pm       Staging 10-to-14-year-old for Sparring

 

1:30 pm        Staging 15 and Older for Sparring. All World Class Sparring Staging.
